FOR THE BEGINNER . . .
Our beginner camp group is designed for students who wish to learn tennis skills in a fun, activity-based environment. This student may be picking up the racquet for the very first time or may have played just a little bit of tennis. The beginner will receive instruction with an emphasis on technique and the fundamentals of the game. We will teach stroke development and a positive approach to each student's tennis. We will work with them on the initial stages of movement and court positioning.
FOR THE INTERMEDIATE. . .
Our intermediate campers will be exposed to a progressive training environment. Each student
will receive instruction in stroke development, agility/footwork and point play strategy. We will
help each student to understand the next step to their tennis development. Our focus with the
intermediate student will start with building on their current strengths and working on areas that need some improvement. We will work with them to build confidence on the tennis court to achieve the next level to their tennis and to have fun!
FOR THE ADVANCED. . .
The advanced camper will be challenged in every aspect of their game. In this training environment players will quickly be able to develop their skills with on-court drills, patterns, mental training and competitive match play. Improvements in technique will allow each of the Advanced student's to go to the next level with their game. We will work on improving serving to make the first serve more of a weapon and the second serve more of a neutralizing shot in match play situations. We will set challenging goals with each student to learn how to use their technique in point play situations.
FOR THE ELITE. . .
The elite camper will experience the tactical and strategic side of competitive tennis. Players will develop their skills with live ball drills, dead ball drills, and competitive match play. In addition, there will be a fitness component where players will be exposed to conditioning drills that improve footwork, movement and flexibility. Mental training is a key development tool for the elite player and this will be an emphasis during camp in the areas of confidence-building, visualization and stress management in competitive situations. A state, sectional or national ranking is preferred. The training program for the week will mirror the training of our practices for our Division I Collegiate teams.
