Winter Wolfpack Tennis Camp

(Dec 21-23)

Ages 6-18

Ability levels:

FOR THE BEGINNER . . .

This camp is designed for students who wish to learn and improve their tennis skills in a fun, activity-based environment.  The beginner will receive instruction with an emphasis on technique and the fundamentals of the game.

FOR THE INTERMEDIATE. . .

Our intermediate campers will be exposed to a progressive training environment.  Each student will receive instruction in stroke development, agility/footwork and point play strategy.

FOR THE ADVANCED. . .

The advanced camper will be challenged in every aspect of their game.  In this training environment players will quickly be able to develop their skills with on-court drills and competitive match play.

FOR THE ELITE. . .

The elite camper will experience the tactical and strategic side of competitive tennis.  Players will develop their skills with live ball drills, dead ball drills, and competitive match play. In addition, there will be a fitness component where players will be exposed to conditioning drills that improve footwork, movement and flexibility. This portion of camp will run similar to a college program. A regional, state, or sectional ranking is preferred for campers to be in the elite group.  This is designed for players aspiring to play college tennis and beyond.

Jon Choboy Tennis Academy - Friday, March 12, 2010

The Jon Choboy Tennis Academy is an elite program designed for passionate junior tennis players who wish to engage in NCAA Division I equivalent training.

The goal of the academy is to teach players with regard to technique, footwork, point construction, mental toughness and fitness in both singles and doubles play.  Attention to detail is what enables players to improve and that is what is brought to the forefront of this academy.

Players will participate in dead ball drills focusing on baseline footwork and transition play with an emphasis on how to get into the net and put points away. In addition, there will be many live ball drills focusing on consistency, point play, and point construction with both an offensive and defensive mindset depending on the development of each individual point.

The Academy runs year round in month long segments and consists of many of the top junior players (boys and girls) in North Carolina in each age group. The program is run by the North Carolina State coaching staff and is held at the NC State indoor tennis center two times per week in the evenings.
